Meet Melody Lindsay: Advocate for Cannabis Reform and Member of Legalise Cannabis Queensland Party

Melody Lindsay is a passionate advocate for cannabis and a member of the Legalise Cannabis Queensland Party and serves as the President of the Party. She ran as a candidate for Nicklin in the 2024 state election and participated in the Ipswich-West by-election in March 2024. With a background in community services in a range of sectors, agriculture including herbalism, and is currently focusing on legal studies. Her personal experiences, such as losing her partner to suicide and facing homelessness as a single mother, have profoundly shaped her perspective on social justice issues.

Melody argues that regulating cannabis would allow law enforcement to allocate more resources to tackling violent crimes while also reducing organised crime. Additionally, Melody emphasises the potential of hemp in various industries, including construction, biofuels, and plastics. She envisions a future where hemp can significantly boost Queensland’s economy, benefiting local farmers and businesses.
